University of London Summer School - The London School of English
The London School of English, one of the oldest language schools in the UK, is a well-established and successful institution founded in 1912 that stands out with its legal and business English in addition to English language education throughout the year.
The University of London Summer School, organised by London School of English, provides its education in the University of London Senate House building located in Bloomsbury throughout the summer and is notable for its Art Deco design. Senate House is an educational facility equipped with the latest technology and has a large library. This building, which was also used in the filming of Batman and James Bond films, has also hosted London Fashion Week. Students stay in single rooms at International Hall, which is a 10-minute walk from Senate House during their education period.
The London School of English Summer School, offered under the organisation of The London School of English, is open only to international students aged 15-18 during the summer months.
Education
Business Pioneers (Drivers of Success)
Students are provided with 24 hours of education per week, including education and academic visits. The programme aims to provide students with communication skills and business intelligence required to succeed in the global market. The programme content focuses on topics such as how to develop a good brand, what is needed to manage a business, next-generation marketing, effective presentation, and budgeting. Visits to London's financial centres, visits to a London-based company and talks by famous investors are also included in the programme. Minimum B1 (Low Intermediate) or IELTS 4.0 English language proficiency is required for participation in the programme.
Global Leaders (Change Makers of Tomorrow)
Students are provided with 24 hours of education per week, including education and academic visits. It is a programme that aims to provide students with passion, motivation and self-confidence, and to develop intercultural friendships in a changing and constantly evolving world. The programme content focuses on topics such as making sustainable choices, community goals, artificial intelligence, law, society, people and technology. A visit to the Parliament Building in London and seminars by expert speakers are also included in the programme. B1 (Low Intermediate) or IELTS 4.0 English language proficiency is required for participation in the programme.
Accommodation
Students stay at International Hall, one of UCL's residences, which is a 10-minute walk from Senate House. Single rooms with private bathrooms are provided.
Meals
Three meals per day are provided.
Activities
Activities such as karaoke, disco, bowling or crazy golf, Go Carting, board games, etc. are offered during out-of-class times.
Trips
1 full day and 1 half day trip per week are offered. Sample Trip Program: British Museum, River Thames Tour, Camden Market, Russell Square, Adventure Theme Park, The Sea Life Aquarium, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Thorpe Park, West End Theatre.
Schools provide the trip programme as an example and reserve the right to change trip destinations due to weather conditions, availability or other external factors. There is no participation in trip programmes on school arrival and departure days. Both programmes offered are implemented for 2 weeks.
Airport Transfers
Students are only met and seen off free of charge from London Heathrow Airport. Additional fees are charged for transfers from other London airports. Arrivals are on Sundays, departures are on Saturdays.
Airport transfer days and times are fixed. Extra fees are charged outside these hours and days. You can get detailed information from your consultant.
Health Insurance
Health insurance is provided free of charge by the school.
Extra Fees
Flight tickets, visa expenses and some airport transfers are not included in the fees.
